Bobcat Sighting July 27th, 2025 - Wasatch CSL 1st Summer Party!
Good day!
I have been meaning to share with you that moments before people arrived at our first summer BBQ, Brad saw an enormous bobcat walking across our bocce ball court. (100-pound cat/the size of a Golden Retriever, and no, it was not a mountain lion!)
There are guides all around us, and in the 8 years we have lived here, we have never seen a cat that size, so I know there is a lesson in this. So, I wanted to share with you all what the bobcat means in this moment in time in creating a new community. I felt it blessed our home with a lot God given qualities of insight, such as independence, intuition, and adaptability. Bobcats are solitary creatures, thriving on their terms where they can use their instincts and move silently through life, choosing their battles wisely yet creating a vibrant life. (Sounds like us!)
Independence: You value self-reliance and prefer doing things your way.
Stealth: You move through life with quiet confidence, avoiding unnecessary drama.
Intuition: You have sharp instincts and trust your gut feelings.
Adaptability: You thrive in changing environments and think on your feet.
Bobcat Symbolism In Native American Culture
In Native American traditions, the bobcat is often seen as a symbol of:
• Mystery – Because of its elusive nature.
• Patience – It waits for the perfect moment to strike.
• Silent Wisdom – It teaches the power of observation before action.
Different tribes have varying interpretations:
• Cherokee – Viewed the bobcat as a protector of secrets.
• Hopi – Associated it with survival and resourcefulness.
• Navajo – Considered it a sign of good fortune in hunting.
If a bobcat appears in your life, it may be urging you to listen more and speak less—wisdom often comes in silence.
How To Work With Bobcat Energy
If you feel drawn to bobcat symbolism, here is how you can harness its energy:
1. Embrace Solitude – Spend time alone to reconnect with your instincts.
2. Trust Your Gut – The bobcat does not second-guess itself—neither should you.
3. Move with Purpose – Avoid unnecessary conflicts; choose your battles wisely.
4. Stay Observant – Like the bobcat, watch and listen before acting.
Blessings always,
